Depth without clutter
Powerful software does not need to announce its complexity on every screen. The difficult machinery should remain available beneath the surface while the everyday path stays calm, legible, and predictable.
That means saying no often. Every control creates another decision for the user, another state to test, and another promise to maintain. A feature earns its place only when it makes the core work meaningfully better.
Reliability is a feature
People build routines around their tools. A thoughtful interface matters, but consistency, good defaults, clear errors, and dependable updates matter more. We would rather release something smaller that can be trusted than something sprawling that constantly demands attention.
